Let hope move us to a better tomorrow

As we watch heartbreak unfold across the country, Foundation of the World stands with our communities, our staff and service members, students, and families to honor the memories of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor and Ahmaud Arbery and all of those whose lives have been lost to senseless acts of racism and police violence. We denounce, in the strongest possible terms, racism, discrimination, and the police brutality ripping our nation apart.

The Foundation of the World was created out of our unconditional love for serving communities in need. We believe that together this world can be a better place for the generations to come. Through these difficult times, feelings of fear, helplessness, and perpetual pain are inevitable, but with the support and generosity of our community, we will overcome. George Floyd’s death is a crime and tragedy that cannot be overlooked and now the world is saying “enough is enough.”

Right now, there is a pain deeply etched in the soul of our nation and in the hearts of millions. That pain is not only in the form of violence but in the everyday experience of deeply rooted discrimination. We see it in our criminal justice system, in the disproportionate toll of disease in Black communities, in the inequalities in neighborhood services and the educations our children receive.

BLACK LIVES MATTER! It is time that we work on meaningful and long-lasting social justice through policy reform, economic empowerment, and universal access to education. We stand together with you as a community of leaders to change the world for the better. We will continue to be committed to this cause. It’s time for action!

Everyone has the time and ability to take action in the service of humanity—though not everyone’s action needs to look the same. While some Americans have engaged in protests to speak truth on behalf of those who have been silenced, others are seeking different ways to raise their voices, especially in light of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Here at Foundation of the World, we will continue to empower underprivileged youth through our education programs.

  1. Education Pays - Teaching financial literacy for economic empowerment

  2. March for Education - Bringing education resources and awareness to issues in our community

  3. PACT - Technical workshops, labs, and mentorship to accelerate young leaders in technology

  4. Next Level Webinar - Free 1-hour webinars from leaders in business, education, technology and more

There are many ways for you to get involved and channel your fatigue, heartbreak, or anger into solidarity with and support of black and brown communities who have lived too long under the shadow of racism.
